Research and Consultation
Characterisation of industrial chemical releases is a key component of environmental risk assessment as well as pollution control activity. An understanding of the context is crucial, to ensure that the consultee is enabled to provide data that are fit for purpose.
Published data can be very useful in development of theoretical scenarios. Literature searching and internet research are time-consuming processes, and, depending on the nature of the task, it can be very easy for the inexperienced researcher to miss valuable leads.
For detailed assessments, there is no substitute for interactive dialogue with the relevant chemical companies and industry groups to establish their needs, and to work together towards a satisfactory understanding of industrial processes and potential for releases. Involvement of a third party in this role, such as a consultant researcher, can sometimes assist this process by ensuring a level of confidentiality, where sensitive data are concerned.
Peter Fisk Associates has extensive experience of conducting
consultation exercises with individual companies, consortia and industry
associations. Contact us to discuss how we can assist with research and
consultation.
