At the UK QSAR Society Spring Meeting (hosted by Accelrys in Cambridge) Peter Fisk Associates and Envision Chemistry displayed a poster describing the applications of QSAR techniques in chemical risk profiling. The conference discussed the latest developments in QSAR methods, with particular reference to pharmaceutical research and development, providing a lot of useful information for delegates. With implementation of REACH not far away, PFA is very pleased to be currently involved with REACH compliance projects for two major industrial clients.
PFA has been monitoring changes to the proposed legislation, and are aware of the requirements the Regulation will impose on industry, and of the way modelling and read across can be used to minimise cost in complying with the legislation. |

The Long Chain Aliphatic Alcohols HPV category (ICCA/OECD) was discussed at SIAM 22 in Paris in April 2006. This large category, for which PFA was involved with the physicochemical and environmental aspects of the submission, attracted relatively little comment in the discussion process and is expected to be finalised and published soon. |
